Rainy Day Blues

 Dear Mother Nature,
You're really starting to
annoy us.   First it was the many
snowstorms that delayed work at
The Barn and now it's your
insistence on relentless rain
since Friday.
Please, we're begging you
to give us a break!

We have so much work that
needs to get done outside for our Barn Show,
which opens this Friday, April 4th and
the rain is making us crazy!

The parking lot needs to dry out,
we have vignettes to create,
furniture to place and
signs to post!

So, please, please, turn off the showers
and bring us some sunshine!

The soggy Barn Crew

 So, anyway, lovely reader,
instead of creating
our potting shed vision,
fishing camp,
and outdoor dining room vignettes,
we spent the day working
inside, fluffing The Barn!

Calvin had us all wishing
there really were two of him

Gregg worked on loading the
"Farmhouse Kitchen"
with fresh finds

The always camera shy
Kenny hung pediments,
mirrors and pictures

And Kari showed why
she has way more style than
any of us when she whipped
out her tool box, which
is actually a vintage train bag!
(How cool is that?!)

Kari, Maria and Calvin
strategized on what
additional accessories and
furniture need to be added to a
room we envision as
"An Artist Retreat"
Gregg and Pam
made sure all of the
unique lighting
(like the one made from
architectural salvage he's working on here)
is ready for opening day

And what did I (Gail) do?

I splashed in the puddles
and played in the rain!
(And they thought I was just taking pictures!)

Which, I also did...

Rain or shine,
we'll be ready for our
spring show,
