Tent Up Emotion

Oh, my gosh, where to begin!?
Do I first tell you about the two
enormous tents that were
put up today to provide
protection against the
forecasted rain at the
end of the week, or just
jump right in to the nitty gritty
and give you all the information
you need to come to the
show prepared and ready to shop?
Hmm, what to do...

You know what,
I think I'll talk about what it's like
to put on a barn show because
right now, as I type, completely
winging this post, I just
imagine my fellow crew members
are at their respective houses
feeling exactly like I am;
excited
(everything looks incredible!)
 exhausted
(we're working long days!)
 frustrated
(sometimes a vignette vision doesn't come
together as planned)
 sore
(we've been moving furniture for weeks!)
thankful
(we're doing what we love)
worried
(will it pour?, will you like it?, will my body
hold up?, when will I find time to finish a
million more projects?)

Putting on a Barn Show is hard work!
But it's also a lot of fun and we're lucky
because we're friends and we
laugh at ourselves, make fun
of each other's craziness,
(we all have our "moments")
support one another,
encourage creativity
and just genuinely love the
experience, each and every show,
the good, the bad and the ugly.

It's what we do.

And I'd like to think it's what
makes The Barn Show
so special, and so different from
any other similar event.
You have no idea how much we
fuss over room ideas, tweak tablescapes
relentlessly, completely redo rooms
days before our show because
something seems "off", obsess
over the details, just to make sure
everything is perfect.
It's just who we are.
When you come to our show we want you
to be inspired, to find something
perfect for your home, something
that "speaks to you" and worthy to
put in your home, your sanctuary.
And so that's why we're working
so hard to put together our
show - we want you to love it!!

 Okay, so now I'm rambling
and you're probably thinking,
"What's her point?"

And I guess the point is this;
we're all just so stinkin' excited
about what we've put together
and truly just can't wait for
you to see it all this weekend!

That's the bottom line!

But, hey, speaking of lines,
(now there's a segue)
 as you know, The Barn
can get a little crowded
on opening day and
sometimes the line to get into
the parking lot or to check out
can be a little long,
so while we've implemented some
improvements
(like more cashiers and a new check out que)
we ask for your help.
A little kindness and patience
go a long way!
The reality is there are parking
limitations and we haven't been
able to solve that problem because
we just don't have room to expand
our parking lot, so we ask for
patience and kindness.
Please respect our neighbors,
who so kindly put up with our
shows, by not parking on their
lawns or in their driveways.
Let's make it an enjoyable
experience for everyone.
Things to consider:
1.  Carpool with your friends
(just bring the big SUV - we
want you to be able to fit a lot into it!)
2.  Plan to shop after the Friday
morning rush, which usually
occurs from when we open at 9
until noon or so.
The mini-barn and the upstairs
of the main barn are absolutely
packed with stock and as we
sell down we re-stock.
So, the folks who are there
first thing Friday
morning won't get to see
any of the fabulous pieces we bring
down as the day/weekend goes on,
but you, our smart friend, will,
because you shopped later in the day or
came on Saturday or Sunday.
3.  If you do find something you love,
please remember,
all sales are final.
We only have three days to sell
a barn full of furniture/accessories and
 so our prices are fantastic!
Everything is priced to sell.
4.   We accept cash, checks with
proper identification and Visa/MasterCard.
5.  If you fall in love with a farm
table and you're only driving a
Smart Car, don't worry, we offer
delivery services
(after the show ends)
at reasonable rates.
6.  All purchases must be picked up
no later than two weeks after the show
ends unless otherwise agreed upon.
Items not picked up 30 days after
the show will be returned to stock.
No refund will be given.
7.  And the absolute most
important rule is to have fun!
Enjoy the show - introduce yourself,
tell us what you're looking for,
give us your feedback - we want your
visit to the
The Barn to be delightful,
and we can't wait to see you!

Love,

Now that I got all the fine print
out of the way, how about a few
pictures of what went on today
at the barn!?

More pics tomorrow....
this barn girl is tired!
